Valencia's Ricardo Tormo circuit has come to a deal with championship commercial rights holder Dorna Sports, which sees the Spanish Grand Prix - host of this weekend's season finale - stay at the track until at least 2016.
With Valencia now the traditional season-ending venue, a meeting was held in the city centre on Wednesday ahead of the final Grand Prix of 2009, during which Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpelete and Trini Miró, the city's Minister of Culture and Sports, completed and signed the contract.

"It is a pleasure for Dorna to extend the agreement that we have had since 1999 for them to host MotoGP races," Ezpelete commented afterwards. "Valencia is already a 'classic' for the World Championship and on several occasions it has been awarded as the best Grand Prix of the season.
"It is therefore an honour to continue our cooperation with the circuit and to count on Valencia as the last Grand Prix of the season for the forthcoming years, as well as the venue for the annual FIM Awards gala ceremony."
