Canepa to miss Malaysian Grand Prix

Following his crash in Australia last weekend, Pramac's Niccolò Canepa has been forced to skip the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix. The Italian rider will be replaced by Catalan Aleix Espargaro at Sepang.

"I am really sorry to not be able to ride in Malaysia," a discouraged Canepa commented. "The team has been working really well and in the last few races I wanted to achieve a good position.

"Doctors have suggested that I don't take any risks as the cut isn't looking too good and therefore I will be taking a break to be at my best in Valencia next month. I still feel a lot of pain but the worst has now passed.

"I hope that Mika (Kallio) and Aleix will be able to achieve good results for Pramac."
