Pedrosa targeting another win

14 October 2009

Dani Pedrosa believes that the MotoGP pendulum could swing in any direction as the championship heads 'down under' this weekend. The Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island will mark the continuation of, not only the championship-leading Yamaha battle, but also the duel for third between the Spaniard and 2007 Champion Casey Stoner.

With Ducati's Stoner having missed three races due to injury this season and now sitting just three points behind Pedrosa with as many races to run, the aims of the latter are clear.

"I'm really looking forward to racing in Australia again; it feels like one of the most important races of the season for me and I'm very motivated to do my best there, get a good result and hopefully challenge for the win," the Honda pilot explained.

"I've had mixed experiences at Phillip Island but there have been some very good memories and those are the ones I'll be focusing on going into this weekend. The objective for the remainder of the season is to keep third place in the championship and score at least one more victory, so if that can come in Australia, all the better."

Dani went on to add that the weather at Phillip Island can also throw variables into the mix, so being on alert will be a necessity this weekend.
