Following a meeting with MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports, the Shell oil company has been appointed as title sponsor for this year's Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. The news comes as a further development of a current deal which sees Shell Advance advertisements on trackside hoardings at current races.
Currently linked to the sport through both Dorna Sports and its Ducati partnership, Shell logos will now be displayed in the principal viewing points as well as the podium of the Kuala Lumpur circuit for what is this year's penultimate race of the championship.

"The Malaysian MotoGP is an exciting annual event for the whole of Asia and one that Shell Advance is very proud to support," added Tanmay Jaswal, Global Marketing Manager for Shell Advance. "This title sponsorship provides us with an ideal platform to strengthen our existing MotoGP presence as we seek to communicate with MotoGP fans and our customers in markets across Asia."
