Pedrosa admits Friday worries
14 August 2009 / Results / PhotosDani Pedrosa is fully aware that pace must be improved in order to keep up with the flying Yamahas at Brno this weekend. The Spaniard's Repsol Honda finished best of the rest behind Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi in Friday practice but almost a full second down on his compatriot's time.

With Yamaha being a second quicker than even the third placed bike, the blue Japanese machines look almost impossible to beat judging from data so far although Pedrosa refuses to give in. "It was good to get back on track after the summer break and I'm feeling very good on the bike now," said the winner of the Laguna Seca race, who has been dogged with injuries for most of the season.
"I'm happy we've made a positive start to the weekend because sometimes we've struggled a little for direction on Fridays but today was better in that respect; we still need to close the gap to the front riders and this is what we'll be working on tomorrow. We tried a new swing-arm from HRC here and we'll continue to test it tomorrow because today we were still working on the general machine settings for this track. Overall, I'm pleased with how today went."
