Lorenzo: "I feel much better"

10 August 2009

Jorge Lorenzo is savouring the chance to get back in touch with team-mate Valentino Rossi at this weekend's Czech Grand Prix. The Spaniard is currently second in the championship standings and twenty-five points behind his World Champion team-mate but claims that, after feeling under the weather recently, he is now fighting fit.

A dramatic British Grand Prix at Donington Park saw Rossi extend his championship lead with fifth place as Casey Stoner's afternoon ended a lap down due to a bad tyre choice; Lorenzo, on the other hand, was heading in the direction of victory when a mistake resulted in a fall and retirement.

"I'm really excited about this race after what feels like a long time without one," said Spaniard Lorenzo as the three-week gap between Grands Prix heads into its last days. "It was good to have a bit of a break and I used the time to work on my fitness and to completely recover from the injuries I had after Laguna, in the gym and with my physiotherapist."

With the Donington fall not helping his physical condition, what shape is Jorge in heading to Brno? "I feel much better than I did in Germany and England and I'm excited to be getting back on the bike," the confident 22-year-old continued. "I like Brno and I have had good results in the past there, including three wins; this time my aim is to fight hard and get back on the podium."
