Championship leader Valentino Rossi will be wearing a specially designed race suit this weekend which incorporates MotoGP's latest technology. The Yamaha rider's overalls will include the new Dainese airbag system, which is designed to automatically deploy in crashes to aid riders' neck and spinal areas.

With the system having already worked well for 250cc rider Marco Simoncelli, Rossi will follow in the footsteps of team-mate Jorge Lorenzo by making use of the device. "After my falls at Laguna Seca, I no longer had any doubt that it was time to start wearing the new suit," said Lorenzo of the D-Air system, which he first used in Germany a fortnight ago. "It certainly offers more safety than the standard suit."
