Meanwhile Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden were fighting for P8. Lap after lap the duo were extremely tight but with eight laps to go Nicky Hayden managed to overtake the Repsol Honda rider.
With five laps to go Casey Stoner made a small mistake and saw Dani Pedrosa pass by taking third position. Jorge Lorenzo was able to overtake Valentino Rossi with just four laps to go but two laps later it was Rossi again who took the lead. He kept the Spaniard behind him claiming his 101st win in his career.
