Bandages aplenty for Pedrosa

Bandages aplenty for Pedrosa

26 June 2009

Dani Pedrosa continues to make progress with his condition as injuries carry on healing ahead of second practice at Assen on Friday morning. The Spaniard, who has suffered from an unfortunate catalogue of incidents this year, wound up a respectable sixth for Honda on Thursday.

With the race in Assen traditionally taking place on a Saturday, practice started one day earlier than most weekends as the riders circulated the Dutch track on Thursday. "Riding felt much better than it did at the last race in Barcelona, which is a positive sign," said Dani, who is in the top five of the championship despite his poor luck in 2009.

"Even without any painkilling injections I was able to ride with quite a good pace so I'm very happy about that. After riding it doesn't feel great and I have some pain, but that's to be expected." Having piled on more ice packs over night, the former one-time 125cc and double 250cc Champion is looking to make more advancements on Friday.
