Jorge Lorenzo was disappointed to see more rain affecting a 2009 MotoGP session in Le Mans on Friday. The Spaniard, currently level-pegging with compatriot Dani Pedrosa in the championship, was keen to concentrate on setup work on France although, with another wet track, was unable to do so to his or the Fiat Yamaha team's full potential.
"It's a pity about the rain because we needed the time today," Lorenzo said later. "But this is the situation so we have to deal with it. I just hope it doesn't continue. At least we had some dry track time, but the situation with the track wasn't so good and I was quite slow."
Having switched the duration of practices from one hour to 45 minutes for 2009, organisers have now elected to revert the length of the sessions back to their original times, starting this weekend. "We need time at each circuit to learn how our bike works with the Bridgestone tyres and we didn't really have enough time today," Lorenzo went on, "but we will keep trying tomorrow and hopefully we can improve our pace."
