Stoner just ahead of Rossi in final practice

Ducati rider Casey Stoner continued his strong performance in Qatar on Saturday as the Australian clocked the fastest lap time. Stoner ended only just ahead of his rival at Yamaha Racing, Valentino Rossi. Loris Capirossi ended third in Saturday's free practice session.

The opening Grand Prix weekend of the season continued on Saturday in Qatar with another 45-minute session. Stoner topped the time sheets for most of the time. The 2007 MotoGP champion is clearly the man to beat in Qatar.

At Repsol Honda the team saw Spaniard Dani Pedrosa improve himself. Pedrosa ended twelft on Saturday while on Friday evening he found himself at the bottom of the time sheets.
