Britain's James Toseland has been admitted to hospital following his accident in Jerez on Sunday afternoon; the rider lost control of his Tech 3 Yamaha at Turn 3 which resulted in a large highside.
James was attended to immediately by doctors trackside who decided, with Toseland having suffered from heavy bruising, to transfer him to the nearest hospital. Further checks in Cadiz then confirmed that he had been the victim of mild concussion as well as an ankle sprain.
The latest 2009 tyre, with which Jorge Lorenzo has particularly struggled with, had been fitted to the Yamaha before Toseland's accident and it is believed that a cold tyre could have resulted in the sudden loss of control. James is now, like Dani Pedrosa, hoping to make a full recovery before the Qatar season opener which is just a fortnight away.
