
Casey Stoner took the nineteenth pole position of his career today at Valencia. He stopped the clock in 1m31.502s to beat the rest of the field on a dry track for the first time this weekend.
Dani Pedrosa qualified second on the grid, 0.053s behind Stoner with practice pace-setter Nicky Hayden.
It was a good day for Tech 3 Yamaha with both riders on the second row of the grid with Edwards ahead of Toseland. Randy de Puniet rounded off the row with sixth.
Lorenzo ended up on the third row ahead of Capirossi and Dovizioso. Valentino Rossi ended a disappointing tenth.
