Hayden fastest in first practice

Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden set the pace in a wet first free practice session at Valencia this morning. He stopped the clock in 1m47.694s to go almost eight tents faster than anyone else.

Hayden, the only man to lap in under 1m48s, finished ahead of Casey Stoner who suffered a fall during the session. Home boy Jorge Lorenzo ended the session third.

Pedrosa finished fourth ahea dof Guintoli, Edwards and West. Valentino Rossi could only manage thirteenth fastest.
