Stoner back on top at Montegi practice

26 September 2008

Casey Stoner was back at the top of the timesheets at the end of Friday's two free practice sessions at Montegi. With only a very slim chance of the title still remaining, Stoner showed he wasn't about to give up setting the pace in 1m48.121s.

Stoner finished 0.07s ahead of Dani Pedrosa who had a tough morning on a damp Montegi circuit before improving dramatically in the afternoon session.

Rossi finished the day third fastest, almost 0.4s off Stoner's pace as he bids to wrap up the championship this weekend.

Dovizioso ended the day fourth, the fastest Michelin rider ahead of Capirossi, Guintoli and Hayden.
