Stoner fastest in warm up

Stoner fastest in warm up

31 August 2008

Casey Stoner continued his domination of every session leading up to this afternoon's San Marino Grand Prix by setting the pace in morning warm-up.

Stoner continued to ride through the pain of his aggrevated hand injury, and the pain was evident while the pole sitter was sat in his garage, grimacing. But on track it seemed to have very little effect on his pace as he set a lap of 1m34.644 to lead the field.

Chris Vermeulen ended the session second, 0.7s down on Stoner while Valentino Rossi was third. Elias, Pedrosa and Edwards rounded off the top six.

Guintoli crashed during the session with a small lowside on his Ducati, but escaped without injury.
