Stoner sets morning pace

29 August 2008

Casey Stoner was the early pace setter as Moto GP roared back into action today at Misano, Italy. The Ducati rider pulled out a lap of 1m35.422s late in the session to beat Colin Edwards to the top spot by just 0.002s.

Local hero Alex de Angelis had a strong start to his home race going third fastest, but 0.7s off Stoner's pace ahead of a better performance from Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi ending up in fifth.

Hayden, Dovizioso, Vermeulen, Toseland and Nakano rounded off the top ten.
