Stoner fastest on Friday

Ducati rider Casey Stoner continued his determined ride to get his championship challenge back on track at Misano as he finished Friday practice fastest of all with a lap of 1m34.806 at Misano.

It is the sixth straight race that Stoner has finished practice on top and finished a clear 0.4s ahead of title rival Valentino Rossi. 

Loris Capirossi finished a surprise third fastest, half a second off the pace but ahead of Colin Edwards in fourth.

Randy de Puniet improved during the course of the day to finish fifth ahead of Vermeulen and an stronger Jorge Lorenzo.

Alex de Angelis ended up eighth ahead of team mate Nakano and Tech 3 Yamaha's Toseland.
