Stoner bites back in second practice

15 August 2008

Casey Stoner fought back in Firday's second practice session at Brno, to finish fastest ahead of morning pace-setter and title rival Valentino Rossi. Just 0.179s separated the two champions who were in a class of their own.

Loris Capirossi ended the day third, but was a massive 0.769s off Stoner's lead pace. Nakano continued to lead a steady and strong day for Gresini in fourth ahead of team mate de Angelis.

Vermeulen ended up sixth, 1.2s off the pace but ahead of Edwards, Hopkins, Elias and Guintoli. Dani Pedrosa ended the day 16th as he gets back to grips with his bike following his injury sustained in practice for the German Grand Prix.
