Rossi leads Stoner in first practice

Valentino Rossi led title rival Casey Stoner as Moto GP got back underway at Brno in the Czech Republic this morning for first practice ahead of Sunday's race.

Rossi's best lap on his Yamaha was a 1m57.782s to finish just 0.1s ahead of Stoner. Shinya Nakano meanwhile had a strong run for the first time on the factory Honda to finish third ahead of Gresini team mate de Angelis.

John Hopkins finished fifth as he returned fro injury on his Kawasaki ahead of Vermeulen in sixth. Elias, Capirossi, Edwards and Melandri rounded off the top ten. Pedrosa finished last, still recovering from his injury in practice for the German Grand Prix.
