Stoner domination continues in morning practice

Casey Stoner's domination of this weekend's US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca continued in Saturday morning's final practice session ahead of qualifying. Stoner lapped the circuit in 1m21.461s to finish nearly 0.4s faster than his record-breaking pace yesterday.

Valentino Rossi found some more pace around the track and improved, improving on his previous best on Friday by half a second, but was still 0.7s off Stoner's pace. Meanwhile in third, Gresini's Shinya Nakano continued a strong start to his weekend by finishing third fastest.

Chris Vermeulen and Marco Melandri ended fourth and fifth while Nicky Hayden ended up sixth, the fastest Michelin rider. 

Alex de Angelis ended seventh in another encouraging session for Gresini  ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, who started to turn up the wick on his Yamaha in eighth. Capirossi and Doviziioso rounded off the top ten.
