Stoner flies to victory in Germany

Casey Stoner put in a composed ride in tricky conditions to take victory in the German Grand Prix, his third straight win of the season. He rode impressively in wet conditions to beat Rossi to the win and Vermeulen into third.

Pedrosa made a good start from second to take the lead and the Spaniard had a 7.5s advantage by lap 6. However, Pedrosa soon came unstuck as he lost control of his bike and crashed out of the lead.

Stoner scooped up the lead again and cruised to the finish. Rossi recovered to a good second place finish ahead of an impressive ride from Vermeuelen. 

Alex de Angelis brought his San Carlo Honda Gresini home in fourth to end a stronger weekend for the rookie and his team while Dovizioso finished fifth ahead of Guintoli.

Capirossi, de Puniet, Nakano and West rounded off the top ten. Jorge Lorenzo, Edwards and Melandri all crashed out in the wet conditions.
