
Dani Pedrosa dug deep in final practice at the Sachsenring to steal the top spot from this weekend's pace setter so far, Casey Stoner by just 0.030s.
Pedrosa put in a stunning lap of 1m22.343s to edge out Stoner's Ducati. Pedrosa's team mate Nicky Hayden also had a good day putting his bike in third place, albeit 0.6s off the lead pace.
Alex de Angelis confirmed San Carlo Gresini Honda's pace in practice yesterday was no fluke with fourth ahead of Dovizioso, Guintoli, de Puniet and Elias.
Valentino Rossi was down in ninth and his team mate Lorenzo in fourteenth.
