Stoner dominates at Assen

Casey Stoner continued his strong performance in Thursday afternoon's free practice session. The Ducati rider was clearly the man to beat at Assen. Stoner was over half a second faster at the Dutch track than championship leader Valentino Rossi. Loris Capirossi suffered another injury in a heavy crash.

Thursday's second free practice session got under way in perfect weather conditions. The most action came from Rizla Suzuki rider Loris Capirossi who returned after being absence at Donington. The Italian crashed in the afternoon and cut his right forearm. He was immidiatly stitched up by the Clinica Mobile doctors on track. Should Capirossi be unable to rider on Friday he will be replaced by Ben Spies.
The Dutch Grand Prix weekend will continue on Friday morning at 10.00am local time.
