Casey Stoner has won the race at Donington Park. The reining world champion led the race from start to finish and was never really threatened by his two main championship rivals Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo who started from P17 finished in sixth.

While Saturday's qualifying session was completely wet the race on Sunday took place at a dry Donington Park. Casey Stoner already showed a promising pace in Sunday morning's warm up session and the race wasn't going to be any different. The Ducati rider dominated the race and led from start to finish.

Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa were in a close fight for most of the race but in the end the Spaniard had to give up his fight with Rossi and settle for third.

Tech 3 Yamaha rider showed another strong performance finishing the race in fourth poisition. His team mate James Toseland failed to impress his home crowd as he fell off his bike in the opening laps. He did continue his race but finished one lap down on race winner Stoner.

Jorge Lorenzo completed an incredible race. After missing the Catalonian Grand Prix due to his crash in a free practice session Lorenzo started his race from 17th position. He quickly moved up the field and in the end finished in sixth position.
