Dani Pedrosa has won his home Grand Prix at Circuit de Catalunya. The Spaniard took the lead at the start and dominated the rest of the race. Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner ended the race in second and third respectively after an exciting fight on track.

The Catalonian Grand Prix got underway in perfect weather conditions on Sunday afternoon. Over 100,000 Spanish fans cheered Pedrosa towards P1 entering the first corner. Pedrosa was closely followed by Stoner, who started from pole, and Dovizioso. Valentino Rossi, starting from ninth, won one position at the start.

Stoner did the best he could to gain the lead but made a mistake when as he tried to outbrake Pedrosa. Stoner was overtaken by Dovizioso instead and fell back to third.

Stoner didn't have too much trouble overtaking Dovizioso to take back his second position but Pedrosa extended his lead by a couple of seconds already. His lead was big enough to finish the race without any problems.

In the meantime Valentino Rossi moved up the field overtaking one after the other. Rossi managed to move up to third position, right behind Casey Stoner. The duo showed a fabulous battle on track, but in the end Valentino Rossi managed to finish the race in second position, scoring 20 valuable points.
