The MotoGP riders continued their preparations for this weekend's French Grand Prix on Friday afternoon. Colin Edwards topped the time sheets for most of the session. The American, who stared last year's race at Le Mans from pole position, completed his fastest lap early into the 60-minute session.

In the final minutes Casey Stoner managed to improved the fastest time of the day but in the final seconds of the session he had to see Dani Pedrosa complete an even faster lap.

The injured Jorge Lorenzo ran off track in the final minutes of the session. Lorenzo was unable to walk away and had to be stretchered back to his garage.
