Pedrosa storms to victory in Spain
30 March 2008 / Results / PhotosDani Pedrosa stormed to victory in his home Grand Prix at Jerez today, taking the lead from pole sitter Jorge Lorenzo at the start and never looking back. Valentino Rossi climbed to second while Lorenzo finished third.
Pedrosa was on fine form, setting a series of blistering laps to open up a strong lead early on in the race. His win at Jerez is his fifth in Moto GP and takes him into the lead of the championship with 41 points, 5 more than Lorenzo, and 10 more than Rossi.
Nicky Hayden finished fourth on his Honda ahead of Loris Capirossi and James Toseland rounding off the top six.
Casey Stoner saw himself slip to fourth in the title battle after he finished in 11th having gone off track and through the gravel twice, early on in the race.
