Stoner continues strong performance on Saturday

Casey Stoner continued his strong performance in Qatar. The Ducati rider completed the fastest lap in Saturday's free practice session. With his 1,55,186 he was just ahead of Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.

On Saturday the MotoGP riders continued their preparations for today's qualifying session and Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix. In this weekend's third and final free practice session Stoner and Lorenzo switched places on top of the time sheets again. The duo was joined by Valentino Rossi as the Italian set the third fastest time. Honda Gresini rider De Angelis continued to surprise the paddock as the rookie rider completed a fastest lap fast enough for a top four position.

At Repsol Honda Nicky Hayden continued to struggle with his bike. The former MotoGP championship completed 24 laps on Saturday with a fastest time of 1,56,971, almost two seconds behind on Casey Stoner.
