Rossi fastest on first day at Sepang
05 February 2008 / ResultsValentino Rossi set a storming pace on the first day of testing at Sepang, Malaysia as he tested the 2008 Bridgestone qualifying-spec tyres late in the day. Rossi finished with a lap of 2m00.3s.
Nicky Hayden was second fastest of the five riders in action today, but more than 1.6s behind Rossi's pace. He suffered a crash at the end of the day, but escaped without injury and will be back in action tomorrow.
Nakano was third ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and de Angelis in fifth. Testing resumes tomorrow.
