Stoner leads wet second day in Australia

31 January 2008 / Results

Reigning champion Casey Stoner finished fastest on the second day of testing at a wet Phillip Island circuit in Australia. The sun did come out in the afternoon and the track managed to dry off for the final hour, when Stoner set his best lap of 1m29.938s.

2008 newcomers Alex de Angelis and Andrea Dovizioso were again impressive finishing second and third respectivly ahead of Shinya Nakano and Nicky Hayden.

There were a couple of crashes in the wet conditions - John Hopkins coming off the worst with a groin muscle injury, but nothing more serious.
