Pedrosa fastest, Stoner injured

While Dani Pedrosa was the first rider to set a timed lap under 1.40's at Jerez the Spanish fans that witnessed Thursday's action also saw Ducati rider Stoner end his day of testing earlier than expected. Stoner suffered from a big crash where he injured his ligaments in his shoulder.

Wednesday was the second day of testing in Jerez. For Stoner it was his final day unfortunately though. The Australian injured himself in the afternoon and will not be able to continue testing with Ducati on Thursday.

Stoner wasn't the only rider crashing in Jerez. The 250-cc champion Jorge Lorenzo also crashed with his Yamaha in the afternoon but was doing fine. He continued testing with the team after his bike was returned to the pitbox and checked.

Valentino Rossi moved up the timesheets as he finished in second. He was the only non-Honda rider even in today's top seven.
