Hopkins finds feet to top Sepang test

16 November 2007 / Results

John Hopkins quickly found his feet in the Kawasaki team to set the pace on the second day of testing this week at Sepang, Malaysia. Hopkins lapped the circuit in 2m02.200s to finish over a tenth clear of Rizla Suzuki's Chris Vermeulen.

Times were quicker today than on Thursday with a stifling heat of 31 degrees Centigrade dying out the overnight rain very early in the morning.

Loris Capirossi turned a few heads testing the all-black Suzuki finishing fifth behind de Puniet and Dovizioso. Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden was sixth.

Colin Edwards, Anthony West, Jorge Lorenzo and James Toseland rounded off the rest of the field.

Testing concludes tomorrow.
