Yamaha feels sorry for Rossi

Yamaha feels sorry for Rossi

05 November 2007

The FIAT Yamaha MotoGP team has a apologised to Valentino Rossi for the team's poor results this season. Valentino Rossi finished the season in third position, just behind Dani Pedrosa. Yamaha was unable to keep up with Ducati at most of the MotoGP tracks this year.

It was a bitter disappointment for Valentino Rossi when his bike gave up on him with only eleven laps to go in Sunday's Grand Prix. Rossi was hoping to score one single point in order to secure his second place in the MotoGP standings, but instead his Yamaha bike faced a technical problem and Rossi was unable to finish the race.

"We apologise to Valentino," Yamaha team boss Brivio told Italian news paper Gazzetta dello Sport. "It is pretty clear that we have had a difficult year with engine and tyre problems. We were unable to improve our engine fast enough this season and so there is a big task waiting for us this winter."
