Pedrosa takes fourth pole in a row

Dani Pedrosa will start Sunday's final round of the 2007 MotoGP championship from pole position. It is the Spaniard's fifth pole of the season and his fourth pole in a row. Pedrosa managed to stay ahead of Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden. Valentino Rossi fell hard off his bike and broke a few bones in his hand. It is uncertain whether or not the Italian can start in Sunday's race.

In the opening moments of Saturday's qualifying session Valentino Rossi had a heavy crash. He lost control of his Yamaha bike coming out of the first corner. The Italian fell hard on the ground and his bike was completely ruined. His hand had three broken bones.

Even though Rossi suffered from a heavy crash the session continued. Randy de Puniet was the first rider to fit qualifying tyres under his Kawasaki bike. In the last fifteen minutes De Puniet, Guintoli, Pedrosa and Stoner fought for the last pole position spot of the season, but it was Dani Pedrosa who grabbed pole position with a fastest lap time of 1,31,517.
