Stoner ahead of Rossi in final practice

15 September 2007 / Results

Ducati rider Casey Stoner continued to dominate in Portugal in Saturday morning's free practice session. The Australian completed his fastest lap in 1m37,173. Rossi was in second, right ahead of the surprisingly fast Sylvain Guintoli. Americans Hayden and Hopkins ended in fourth and fifth.

During the final free practice session here at Estoril Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner and John Hopkins were the fastest riders out on track in the opening minutes. Sylvain Guintoli was also doing well from start until the end of the session. After around 15 minutes into the session Casey Stoner completed a lap that was faster than anyone else opening a gap between himself and the rest of the field.

Valentino Rossi managed to keep up well with Stoner this morning. Behind him Tech3 Yamaha rider Makoto Tamada also showed some promising times.
