Stoner blitzes second practice

14 September 2007 / Results / Photos

Casey Stoner went fastest again in the second practice session for this weekend's Portuguese Grand Prix with a best of 1:37.950s. The Ducati rider was 0.039s ahead of surprise second quickest Makoto Tamada, who put in a late flyer in qualifying trim to oust Valentino Rossi.

Dani Pedrosa, who set the early pace on the dry and hot Estoril track, ended up fourth ahead of Kawaski's Randy de Puniet. Less than a tenth separated John Hopkins, Loris Capirossi and Nicky Hayden from sixth to eighth whilst Alex Barros and Sylvain Guintoli made up the top ten.
