Hopkins hails Stoner dominance

John Hopkins was short of superlatives to describe Casey Stoner's dominant win in today's Czech Grand Prix. The Suzuki rider finished second and some 8 seconds off the Australian, who led from start to finish. Although the American has been consistently very quick all weekend, he had no answer for the Ducati rider's pace.

"Casey was unbelievable - he was on fire," Hopkins said. "I gave it everything I had and pushed everything. The tyres and the Rizla Suzuki were awesome, but Stoner was flawless all weekend long. I tried and tried and tried but after about 10 laps I just had to give up on him and concentrate on finishing second."

Hopkins will be leaving Suzuki at the end of the season to join the up and coming Kawasaki outfit but still feels delighted to have achieved his highest position today with Suzuki.

He added: "Hats off to my team, it just feels really good to do this for Rizla Suzuki and Bridgestone."
