Melandri out of Czech weekend

Melandri out of Czech weekend

18 August 2007

Gresini Honda rider Marco Melandri has pulled out of this weekend's Czech Grand Prix after his neck pain did not get any better on Satirday. He originally suffered the injury on Friday, when he sat out second practice.

Following doctors' orders he has taken the decision to withdraw.

"I'm so sad, I thought I'd be 100 per cent but I didn't expect this kind of injury," MElandri said. "Suddenly I felt so much pain in my neck and I couldn't really move my left arm much. I can't ride like I want so we prefer that I rest and try to be in the best condition for the next race."

"It's too dangerous for me and the other drivers like this," he added. "I can't really control myself that well on the bike with this pain."
