Stoner fastest in first Brno practice

Casey Stoner dominated first practice this morning for the Czech Grand Prix. The Australian topped the timesheets through out all of the hour-long session, ending up 0.662s quicker than second-fastest John Hopkins with a 1:58.881s. Loris Capirossi was third fastest, whilst the rest of the field was over a second adrift.

The two Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards were fourth and fifth fastest, with the Italian setting his best in the final moments. The Honda Repsol duo of Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden followed with Chris Vermeulen, Randy de Puniet, and Toni Elias, who is making his comeback this weekend after breaking his leg, completing the top ten. Elias' Gresini team-mate Marco Melandri will be disappointed with 16th.
