Melandri joins Ducati in 2008

The Ducati MotoGP team announced that the team will see Marco Melandri join Casey Stoner in 2008 at the Italian team for two seasons. Stoner renewed his contract until the end of 2009, while 24-year-old Melandri will join the team with a two-year contract.

Next week Loris Capirossi and his manager will meet with Ducati representatives to evaluate the possibility of preparing a third official Desmosedici MotoGP bike for the Italian rider to use in the 2008 World Championship.
