Stoner fastest in warm-up

15 July 2007 / Results

Casey Stoner was fastest yet again at the Sachsenring in preparation for this afternoon's German Grand Prix, this time in warm-up. Just like in qualifying however it was by the slightest of margins. Title rival Valentino Rossi was just 0.011s off the Ducati rider's best of 1:22.862s at the end of the 20-minute session.

Third fastest Colin Edwards was also very close in the second factory Yamaha with Loris Capirossi making it a Ducati sandwich with a Yamaha filling in fourth. Gresini's Marco Melandri and Repsol Honda's Nicky Hayden completed the top six ahead of Kawasaki's Randy de Puniet, Suzuki's John Hopkins, Dani Pedrosa on the second Honda and Anthony West on the second Kawasaki.

The session took place in dry and warm conditions ahead of this afternoon's race, which starts at 13.00 GMT.
