Stoner fastest in final practice

14 July 2007 / Results / Photos

Casey Stoner made into three out of three in the final practice session, labelling himself as the one to beat in this afternoon's qualifying for the German Grand Prix. His Ducati team-mate Loris Capirossi was about four tenths slower than Stoner's pace-setter - a 1:22.656s, which is also the Aussie's best effort of the weekend so far.

Marco Melandri, who has been on the pace all weekend as well at the Sachsenring track, was third on his Honda Gresini. Randy de Puniet was fourth fastest on his Kawasaki ahead of the highest Michelin runner Carlos Checa of Honda LCR. Rizla Suzuki's John Hopkins made up the top six ahead of the two Fiat Yamahas of Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards. Chris Vermeulen on the second Rizla Suzuki and Nicky Hayden completed the top ten.
