Nicky Hayden led in warm-up this morning in the build up to the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen this afternoon. The 2006 world champion demonstrated his improving form on a dry track having qualified 13th in yesterday's wet qualifying session. The Repsol Honda rider was followed by fellow countryman John Hopkins in second, whilst Valentino Rossi hinted he is one to watch out for from 11th on the grid in today's race by coming third.
Colin Edwards was fourth in the second Fiat Yamaha whilst Dani Pedrosa rounded off the top five in the second Repsol Honda. Casey Stoner was down in ninth but only after crashing on the final corner with five minutes left of the session. The Aussie emerged unhurt and was able to jog to the pits to pick up the spare Ducati and then even set his fastest time.
