Stoner top on day one at Assen
28 June 2007Casey Stoner's dominant form looks set to continue this weekend after he finished top of the timesheets in practice at Assen - clear of any other rider by 0.212s. The Ducati rider finished ahead of Randy de Puniet and Nicky Hayden.
The second practice session was relatively uneventful, after the accident in the morning which broke Toni Elias' leg. Kawasaki's Anthony West came off his bike half way through the session but escaped without injury.
Valentino Rossi was fourth quickest, 0.3s off the pace and ahead of Dani Pedrosa.
