Pramac D'Antin riders busy with tyre testing
12 June 2007 / ResultsBarros and Hofmann remained at Circuit de Catalunya on Monday with the other MotoGP drivers to work on their bike set-ups and tyre testing in preparation of the upcoming British and Dutch Grand Prix.
Alex Barros, who achieved a competitive eighth position in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, has been mainly focused to test several kinds of bike set-up and race tires, getting positive results, which make him confident for the next races.
The team-mate Alex Hofmann, who had some difficulties during the race on Sunday with his Ducati Desmosedici, have worked mainly with Bridgestone tires with no particular changes to the bike set-up.
Alex Barros said about Monday's test session: "I'm really satisfied after this test, we have done a very good work, trying all materials at our disposal with different set-up solution too we thought more suitable for me. In the morning we worked especially on the bike set-up, then, in the afternoon, we focused on tires test, which made us particularly satisfied. The Bridgestone we used Today was really competitive and suitable for my ride style, enabling me to decrease my lap - time. I'm confident for the next race in Doninghton, we will arrive there with the right training."
Alex Hofmann said: " Today we worked hard and we are satisfied for the final result. After the not satisfied result Yesterday got, it was very important to do this test to know how could be our problem; the main aim was to find the right tires solution in case of particularly hot ground. We spend this day to focus our self on Bridgestone race tires and make some small bike set-up changes, that able us to obtain competitive race pace.
I'm still displeasure for my last race because I don't really understand how could be the real but at the same time I'm more confident for the next round because I know that the material at our disposal is very competitive and like the others do, we can breathe to get good results."
