Stoner snatches 0.069s win from Rossi

Casey Stoner stole victory from Valentino Rossi by the narrowest of margins at the Circuit de Catalunya. The leading duo put on an amazing show in the final ten laps as they diced for the lead, swapping the lead more times than you could count. Dani Pedrosa stayed in touch with the leaders and brough his bike home in third, to give his home crowd something to shout about.

Despite pole, Rossi ended up playing catch up to Stoner - the Ducati having a speed advantage on the main straight and the Yamaha stronger in the tighter, twisty corners and both came frighteningly close to contact on several occasions

"Both our bikes seemed to be pretty similar, it was an awesome race with lots of stress," Stoner beamed after taking another win. "I could keep him out on the straights and in some of the other parts he was quicker but it was a great race. I could go late enough on the brakes to make him run wide whenever he tried to outbrake us."

John Hopkins brough his Suzuki home in fourth ahead of the injured de Puniet and Loris Capirossi battled up the order to finish sixth.
