Rossi fastest in second session

Valentino Rossi set the quickest time in the second session but could not beat the lap Dani Pedrosa set in the morning session on Friday at the Circuit de Catalunya. Rossi lapped the circuit in 1m14.313s to finish the session fastest, but was 0.214s down on Pedrosa's best lap from the first session.

Pedrosa suffered a spectacular crash at his home circuit early in the second session, doing a lot of damage to his bike. He emerged without serious injury and managed to return to the track on the spare bike at the end, clocking the third fastest lap of the second session. 

Elias finished fourth in the final session ahead of Stoner, Melandri, Barros, Edwards and Nakano.
