Pedrosa fastest on Saturday morning

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa was the fastest rider at Mugello on Saturday morning. The Spaniard was right ahead of Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Loris Capirossi.

The Italian fans at Mugello can expect an interesting qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. The three Italian riders were all in this morning's top five. Valentino Rossi was the best Italian rider followed by Capirossi and Melandri in fifth.

Even though Dani Pedrosa seemed to be well on the pace with the Repsol Honda bike, his team-mate and world champion Nicky Hayden was found back in eleventh position.

Alex Barros surprised a few as he set this morning's sixth time, with Alex Hofmann close behind him in ninth.
