Stoner fastest in warm-up

Stoner fastest in warm-up

22 April 2007 / Results

In Sunday's warm-up session ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul it was Casey Stoner who set the fastest lap time in the 25-minutes warm-up session. Valentino Rossi, who will start from pole position this afternoon, set the ninth fastest time.

Ducati rider Stoner was the fastest man on his bike during most of the session this morning. The Australian will start this afternoon's race from fourth position but looks like he can make up a few positions if he can keep this morning's pace. Toni Elias, Loris Capirossi and Dani Pedrosa also did well but were not even close to Stoner this morning.

Alex Hofmann fell of his bike this morning when he was on a fast lap. He seemed fine though fortunately so he should be able to start the race later today.

World champion Nicky Hayden didn't seem to have found any improvements yet. Also in this weekend's final session ahead of the race Hayden was outside the top ten.
